Med school is hard. So is being a mom. Second year hasn't turned out like I hoped it would. Life got in the way and I wasn't doing as well as I know I could be doing. I decided to take a leave of absence to take care of some of the extraneous things and set up a better foundation for next year. I'm still dealing with the disappointment of not succeeding and the costs, especially financial, that come with the decision. But it was necessary, I felt like a jack of all trades master of none.
In the next three months I'm going back to basics, first month-household & physical health. Last two months- studying and planning. I'm fortunate that the faculty at school has been extremely supportive and understanding. Their faith in me is humbling and serves as an additional motivating factor. I can do it all, I'm just learning that I need more help.
